This book is meant to facilitate dialogue between a child and an adult, though a child can read it independently. At key moments in the book, there are interactive communication bubbles meant to prompt dialogue and critical thinking. Luke and the child together work through complicated situations using the STOP - THINK - CHOOSE problem solving method.

During my thirty years as a school counselor, I found the best way to connect with a child or a group of students was with a picture book – no matter the age. Children love the intimacy of being read to and the imaginary world that unfolds. They become part of the book themselves.
