Luke's Story
Hanne Laursen has a master’s degree in counseling psychology, supplemented by hundreds of workshops and certificates in child development. She is passionate about giving children the tools to become self-reliant, socially successful, responsible, contributing members of society.
Throughout her 30-year career as a school counselor and child advocate, her preferred tool working with children has always been the picture book.
She developed the widely popular and successful STOP – THINK – CHOOSE tool and has now authored a picture book series bringing the concept to life.
Hanne Laursen credits her students, her own two adult children and her husband’s wisdom in perfecting STOP – THINK – CHOOSE.
Hanne Laursen was born in Denmark, and she now makes Elkins Park, PA, USA her home.
Karin Lykke Groth, Illustrator
Karin Lykke Groth is a Danish visual artist and illustrator, watercolor being her preferred form of expression.
She uses hand-penciled drawings accentuated by gentle watercolor application to highlight the exact mood and unique character of her subjects.
Karin Lykke Groth has illustrated school textbooks for the past 20 years for leading Danish publishers and has also illustrated PR material for The UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred in Denmark. She loves teaching watercolor techniques, amongst others to US exchange students in Denmark.
She holds a master’s degree in fine arts from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark, and she has received prestigious grants for her work.
Karin Lykke Groth is represented in several international art galleries including The Continuum Movement Art Gallery in New York City and she has participated in a number of juried exhibitions.
